The seventh season of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia will take place from April 15 till April 21, 2013. 

This season AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia FW 2013 will take place in the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum, which is an 18th century heritage asset with a unique art collection. The shows of the new designers participating in the seventh season of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia will take place in Titian and Raphael halls that will host a high-profile event for the very first time.

Traditionally, Saint Petersburg designers’ shows will be an integral part of the seventh AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia season. This time Tanya Kotegova, Tatyana Parfionova, Pirosmani by Jenya Malygina, Leonid Alexeev, Igor Gulyaev, Ianis Chamalidy, Bondarev, Lilia Kisselenko, Stas Lopatkin, Razgulyaev Blagonravova and many other will present their collections. New names will be introduced as well, such as Sanan Gasanov, Liza Odinokikh, Leonid Titow. Another designers to show their collections in the Russian Academy of Fine Arts are Igor Chapurin and Ukrainian brand Andreeva. The latter will show its collection for the first time ever. British brand Marques’ Almeida and Italian Gaetano Navarra. will also present their collections. During the Fashion week the presentation of Homo Consommatus, a brand that made its debut at the AFWR two seasons ago, will also take place. Osome2some, a designer duet, will present its collection during AFWR as well.

All fashion shows, presentations and interviews with designers and industry professionals will be available online live. The official partner of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia is a video-sharing website YouTube. All fashion shows will be broadcast live at the AFWR website, AFWR YouTube channel, VK fan page and leading Internet media.

The seventh season of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia will also host many off-podium projects. Traditionally, the educational program will be presented by FASHIONOMICA conference. It will include the lectures of the fashion industry leaders on the urgent issues and will be a way to synchronize local experience with the successful examples from international practice.

As a part of the collaboration with AFWR The National Library of Russia will present an exhibition “Love affair with fashion. Dandyism.” dedicated to the sociocultural phenomenon relevant during the past three centuries.

Louis Vuitton boutique and Harper’s Bazaar will present Natalia Alaverdyan’s “Time travel” photo project. This exhibition will take place during the Fashion week and the guests will have an opportunity to see the photos with signature pieces from the past Louis Vuitton collections. Milan party “Punks Wear Prada” that will take place in Buddha Bar is going to be one of the most important events of the week, organized by Dolce&Gabbana PR-manager, DJ and blogger Natasha Slater.

This season a traditional project “Bookshelf” will also take place. During this project Saint Petersburg bookstores will have special offers and discounts on fashion and design literature for their customers.

AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia is a federal art and fashion industry project under the auspices of Saint Petersburg City Administration, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and foreign consulates.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will be held in Moscow from March, 29 ’til April,2. The most influential fashion week in Eastern Europe will occupy Central Exhibition Hall “Manege” (1, Manezhnaya square).

The names of participants of international program of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia are traditionally kept under wraps but the organizers guarantee the presence of famous foreign designers representing iconic fashion brands as it was lately. Pal Zileri (Italy) so beloved by Russian public, Ozwald Boateng (Great Britain) known all over the world for his collections of mens’ clothes, Giles Deacon (Great Britain) titled by GQ magazine the Designer of the year and KAI who designs clothes for Thailand royal family. During the whole history of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia (previously Russian Fashion Week) its catwalk was illuminated by fashion shows of more than 80 international designers including Vivienne Westwood (Great Britain), Catherine Malandrino (USA), Costume National (Italy) and JC de Castelbajac (France).

For few years of its existence, AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia positioned itself as one of the key fashion events not just in St. Petersburg but East Europe as well turning into the third largest Fashion Week in this region. Being an institutional project and having some influence on the fashion industry AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia is supported by the official government structures including St. Petersburg Government, Ministry of Culture and foreign consulates. The main mission is to focus on the promotion and support of St .Petersburg designers, and strengthening fashion as an industry and culture in St. Petersburg and Russia in general.

The seventh season will bring together around 40 designers, among those there will be famous names, beginning talents and thousands of guests including fashion professionals and fashion fans. There are many interesting events this season: the main program includes more then 40 fashion shows and Fashionomica conference presets educational side of the program.

Traditionally, the biggest part of the coming season of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia will be fashion shows of St. Petersburg designers. This time collections of next designers will be presented Tatyana Parfionova, Leonid Alexeev, Igor Gulyaev, Ianis Chamalidy, Sergey Bondarev, Pirosmani and others. Many designers participate in the International Fashion Week in St. Petersburg every season that shows the importance and strong reputation of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia.

There will be a special project as a part of the Fashion Week that covers latest fashion trends. This time guests and participants of AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia will have a chance to visit themed show room, where best collections of accessories and jewelry will be presented for purchasing.
